How To

How to make a perfect Omelette

Omelets are one of my favorite foods to eat at breakfast. But how do you create them perfectly? I've tried many different methods and recipes, but none of them seem to work! Today, I'd like to share some tips with you in order to make delicious and fluffy omelets every day.

We should first know that eggs are very temperamental ingredients when making omelets. You must get them fresh, organically, and keep them cold until you cook. If they are not kept cold enough, the whites won’t form properly. The yolks will also break down too quickly and become runny. This can make your omelets look bizarrely colored. If you plan to cook the eggs right away, it is best to use room temperature eggs.

Another tip is to separate your egg before adding it into the pan. You don't want the white to get mixed with the yolk, as this could cause the egg to curdle.

The egg can burn if it is placed directly on the stovetop. Instead, heat the egg in a microwave for 10 seconds and then place it in a pan. The microwave heat cooks the eggs just right without overcooking them.

Next, let’s talk about mixing the egg. When you mix eggs together, you want to beat them well. Turn the bowl upside down and grab the whisk to do this. Next, shake the bowl vigorously. This allows the air to be whipped and the egg to be mixed thoroughly.

The fun part begins - you need to pour the milk into your mixture. First, pour half of the milk into the beaten eggs and then fold the eggs gently into the remaining milk. Do not be alarmed if there are still egg streaks visible. Once the omelet flips, these streaks will disappear.

After folding the eggs fold the pan onto medium heat. When the oil starts to hot, wait for the pan to cook. Once the oil has gotten hot, add 1/4 cup of butter and swirl it around so that the entire pan is coated. Open the lid and sprinkle salt on the pan. The salt will help to prevent the omelet's sticking to the pan.

Cover the pan once the omelet is formed and allow it to cool completely. Flip the omelet by using a spatula. Cook the other half for another minute. Serve immediately after removing the omelet from its pan.

This recipe works best when you use whole milk.
